Below are examples of notable projects I've worked on in school and professionally.

PAST EXPERIENCE MANAGING PROJECTS

Before obtaining my PSM-1 certification and completing the TPM bootcamp course, I demonstrated project management skills by assuring projects came in on-time and on-budget. As a Proposal Coordinator, I managed the proposal development and submission process for IT companies looking to secure software development contracts with the government. While working in commercial real estate, I managed dozens of short and long-term construction projects averaging over $1m each.

DESCRIPTION:

Applied knowledge of the waterfall methodology by helping Kyzen implement JIRA and Wrike as their new project management tools. Clear and upfront goals and expectations were set and transparent project documentation was used. All required artifacts were created and the project was executed while mitigating risks and maintaining the project’s timeline.
 

SKILLS:

  • Managed a project through every phase of the lifecycle. 

  • Wrote a project charter, project status reports, and executive-level project summary report.

  • Configured new project structure in Wrike including:

    • Project schedule with tasks, assignees, and dependencies

    • Risk register to evaluate project risk

    • Created custom dashboard for monitoring project progress

  • Maintained a schedule throughout the full project life cycle.

  • Analyzed and resolved a project resource overallocation problem.

  • Summarized a risk response and close project risks.

DESCRIPTION:

Demonstrated my knowledge of agile, Jira, and Confluence to manage a website development project. Worked as part of a scrum team to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and close sprints for a website development project where another scrum team was the customer.

SKILLS:

  • Created a project datasheet for a website development project.

  • Planned sprints using Jira and Confluence. 

  • Created wireframes for a website & built a website based on the wireframe design.

  • Analyzed a sprint burndown chart to respond to a customer change request.

  • Analyzed software requirements to ensure that they were precise, understandable, necessary, and testable.

  • Wrote test cases based on user stories & executed test cases and documented test results. 

  • Resolved defects found during test execution.

  • Wrote a sprint summary report.

  • Planned and facilitated a sprint review & sprint retrospective.

DESCRIPTION:

A disorganized project was inherited and the project planning documents from the previous project manager were reviewed and cleaned up. An appropriate software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology was chosen, requirements were determined, a work breakdown structure (WBS) was created, a project schedule and a resource budget were assigned, and the risk and communication management approaches were developed.

  • Evaluated planning documents for a disorganized project.

  • Recommended an SDLC based on project characteristics.

  • Critiqued and revised user requirements.

  • Broke down project scope into deliverable increments.

  • Created a revised project budget and project schedule. 

  • Rewrote a risk management plan and a communications management plan.

DESCRIPTION:

Displayed exceptional project management skills by preparing and managing extensive government proposal submission for 5 simultaneous bids (consisting of over 250 pages each) from private IT companies competing for the Chief Information Officer-Solutions and Partners 4 (CIO-SP4) governmentwide acquisition contract. I directly oversaw each bid’s process including identifying, developing, and implementation. I prepared detailed proposal plans, schedules, outlines, submission instructions, production plans, and compliance matrices. Each of the 5 bid packages were completed and delivered both on schedule within budget.

  • Demonstrated effective meeting management (daily standups, review & finalization meetings)

  • Evaluated risks to ensure project can be completed within time and budget limits.

Elevator Modernization Project

DESCRIPTION:

Managed a multimillion-dollar project spanning 1.5 years to modernize the elevator system of a medical office building consisting of 6 elevators. Demonstrated traditional project management skills through oversight of the planning, design, and execution of the modernization project from its beginning to end. Oversaw all communications and scheduling, prepared budget charts and status reports, and ensured the project was successfully completed within schedule and budget constraints.

  • Managed a traditional project from beginning to end.

Common Area Renovations Project

DESCRIPTION:

Oversaw the management of a multimillion-dollar construction project spanning over 2 years to complete renovations and cosmetic updates to the common areas of 4 high-traffic medical office buildings. Managed all stages of the project from beginning to end and ensured the completion of all project deliverables and objectives.
